Why do I bowl?

An abortion fund allowed me to access abortion without delay and without putting my health or life at risk.

Once upon a time, I was a gal fresh out of college who was woefully unemployed and struggling to survive.

When I missed my period, I feared the worst. When the pregnancy test turned positive, I was lost. I knew I did not want to continue the pregnancy but I had no idea how to afford the $500 cost of the abortion. 

An abortion fund stepped in and granted me access to a safe medical abortion. 

Participating in the bowl-a-thon is my way to give back to a movement that made sure I had access to a safe and legal abortion.

Why should you donate?

1. You think I am awesome and are really happy I am in your life. Had I not been able to access a safe and legal abortion, you may have lost me. 

2. You are really over the attacks on abortion access: Fact is NC has passed laws already that made abortion costs go up and the state very well may pass laws that shut down clinics. Abortion funds make sure women can afford the costs of traveling to the nearest clinic or to cover the rising costs of care.

3. You think clinic escorts are rad human beings and you want to honor the hundreds of hours of clinic defense work our bowl-a-thon team engages in each year :)
