WHY I'M BOWLING

I've been involved with the EMA Fund for five and a half years.  In that time I've talked to everyone from college students, to military spouses, to middle-aged parents, to teenage refugees, to homeless LGBTQ youth, all for the same reason - they were seeking abortions and couldn't afford them.  I've seen people end up late-term and have to travel to other states purely because they didn't have the money earlier in their pregnancy and didn't know how to find it

I'm bowling - well, "triathlon-ing," as has been our Fund's tradition since we discovered how hard it was to find a supportive bowling alley around here - because I believe that everyone should have access to the abortions they need, regardless of how much money they have.

Because of unreasonable laws, safe and legal abortions can be out of reach of those who don't have the money to pay for them. And because of economic disparities, a lot of people fall into that category. I don't think that's right, so I'm doing something about it.

I'm taking part in a triathlon (okay, the "sports" are games, karaoke, and eating) to raise money for the EMA Fund. You can help me hit my goal, and together, we can make an immediate difference with real impact.
