WHY I'M BOWLING

Once, a new friend told me that I reminded them of Abbi Jacobson. 

As a huge fan of Broad City, this, obviously, was one of the best moments of my life (hyperbolic? Maybe, maybe not).

An even better moment? When my awesome co-worker Lindsay a.k.a. Ill-ana a.k.a. Queen of the Bowl-a-Thon started the National Network of Abortion Funds' Bowl City virtual Bowl-a-Thon page. 

When I saw her page, complete with awesome Broad City GIFs, I was like:

So now I, too, am lacing up my virtual bowling shoes and getting my groove on for Bowl City and our abortion funds across the United States and beyond. 

I'm bowling to combat an unfair, racist, misogynistic system that makes it impossible to get an abortion if you don't have the money to pay for one. 

Thanks to the Hyde Amendment, and innumerable other undue restrictions that are still being passed today, people have had to struggle to exercise their right to abortion for almost as many years as it has been legal. 

And what do I have to say to the politicians behind these underhanded tactics?

Does the fact that people are being denied this basic right make you angry, too?
