HELP me REACH MY INDIVIDUAL GOAL of $400
WHY I'M BOWLING
On April 30, I'm taking part in a triathlon (okay, the "sports" are playing cornhole, karaokeing, and playing board games) to raise money for Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund, to help people who are struggling with the financial cost of abortion access. I hope you'll join me in supporting this important cause, and here are ten reasons why you should. So get ready.
1. From 2011 to 2013, state legislatures passed 200 restrictions on abortion, more than in the previous decade combined.
2. Even in Massachusetts, where there aren't major restrictions to abortion access, an abortion can cost $650. In places where people have to travel hundreds of miles and stay in hotels for long waiting periods, that cost can reach upwards of $1100.
3. More than 40 percent of people who have an abortion live on less than $11,000 a year. Forty-four percent of women live in a state where even private insurance can't fund abortions.
4. Who's hurt the most by burdensome regulations that make it almost impossible to get abortion care? Here's the Notorious RBG: "It hurts women who lack the means to go someplace else."
5. This is wrong. Clearly.
6. Fortunately, abortion funds like EMA Fund are here --often operated by an all-volunteer staff-- to help callers with insurance and financial help so they can access abortion care.
7. So. Do you support people who are trying to access a constitutional right?
8. Then donate! Do it in honor of these folks.

10. If nothing else, donate because victory on the cornhole floor is my destiny.
