Thank you for the great response and to all those who donated! It is very much appreciated both by me and the EMA Fund.
I would like to note that of the 17 donors, only 5 are male-identified. Almost all of EMA's donors, volunteers, and board are women, and that's a result of patriarchy.
This is really a basic question of feminist resource/economic redistribution.
Lack of abortion and reproductive access disproportionately impacts women, but the burden shouldn't be only on them to respond to it. In the case of someone needing an abortion, usually, a woman will be affected and a man may or may not step up, but EMA will be there.
So for all you (feminist) male-identified folks, if you can and are able to, please donate today! No amount is too little (or BIG!)
If it helps, it's like carbon offsetting for benefiting from patriarchy!

I am participating in EMA's 2015 triathlon because I care about economic justice, access to health care and reproductive rights. EMA is an entirely volunteer-run non-profit that does important and life-changing work by helping people who can't afford their abortions. This fundraiser provides over half of their annual budget, which goes toward helping hundreds of people access abortion and other crucial healthcare.

I believe that everyone should have access to the abortions they need, regardless of how much money they have. Because of unfair and unnecessary laws, safe and legal abortions can be out of reach of those who don't have the money to pay for them. That's why I have been a supporter of the EMA Fund for over 4 years, because I believe that all people, regardless of their financial status, should be able to determine their own destinies.

Whatever donation you can make, you'll be helping the EMA Fund reach their goal. And more concretely, you will help people who can't, for whichever of the MYRIAD reasons that are out there, access the abortion procedure they need. Thank you for your support. The Triathlon is Thursday night at the Milky Way in JP (if you don't have plans you should come! Eat Pizza, play board games, and sing karaoke for abortion access-it'll be tons of fun) and we are chipping away at a goal of $60,000!
