WHY I'M BOWLING

Friends and family,

You may know that I work on an online help-line at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In my job, I've read questions from thousands of women across the country who choose to get an abortion but are unable to pay for the procedure and need help. Many of these women lack health insurance, or have insurance plans that won't help pay for abortion. For these women, it's a scary, uncertain, and exhausting position to be in, and it's the result of an unfair health care system and a climate that shames and punishes women who choose abortion.

Luckily there's help. The New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) is one of a network of locally-run organizations that helps people in need pay for their abortion care. That's why on April 26th I'll be putting on funny shoes and knocking down pin after pin (one at a time — I'm not that good at bowling) in their honor.

Please join me in supporting them and the many people who rely on their help by contributing any small amount of money you can part with.
